AI transparency

How this service uses AI, in plain language.

AI Product Studio produces images with artificial intelligence. This page explains what that means for the images you create and publish.

The images are generated

When you run a photoshoot, your uploaded product photograph is sent to an AI provider together with the scene direction for the preset you chose. The provider produces a new image in which the background, lighting, styling and composition are generated.

This is image generation and editing, not photography. Even though the workflow is designed to carry your product through faithfully, the result is a synthesised image.

Results can differ from your actual product

The system aims to preserve the shape, colours, materials, packaging, logos and visible text of the item you uploaded. It does not guarantee an exact reproduction. Fine details, small text and intricate patterns are the most likely to shift.

AI-generated results may vary. Review images carefully before publishing, especially product details, packaging and text.

You should check every image before publishing

You are the seller, and the accuracy of your product imagery is your responsibility under consumer protection and advertising law. Before an image goes on a listing or into an advertisement, confirm that it represents what the customer will actually receive.

We record provenance for every generated image

Each generated asset is stored with a provenance record describing how it was made. This supports auditability, abuse investigation and any future content-credential standard we adopt.

  • generatedWithAIAlways true for images produced by the service.
  • providerWhich AI provider produced the image.
  • modelThe specific model used.
  • generatedAtWhen the image was produced, in UTC.
  • generationJobIdThe job the image belongs to.
  • promptTemplateVersionWhich version of the scene template was used.
  • sourceAssetHashesSHA-256 hashes of the reference images used as input.
  • outputHashSHA-256 hash of the generated file.

We do not strip AI metadata from files

Some AI providers embed machine-readable markers in the files they produce, indicating that an image was generated by AI. Where a provider does this, the application preserves those markers: downloads serve the original provider output rather than a re-encoded copy, because re-encoding is how such metadata is usually lost.

Current status. We preserve whatever machine-readable metadata the provider produces. We do not currently write our own C2PA or Content Credentials manifests, and we do not claim to. The provenance service is structured so that support can be added when we implement it.

Generated assets are labelled in the application

Every generated asset carries a visible label in its detail view so there is never any doubt about how an image was produced.

Downloaded files are not visually watermarked, so that the images can be used commercially.

What you may not do with generated images

The service may not be used to mislead buyers. That includes depicting features, contents, materials or quantities a product does not have, making a counterfeit product appear genuine, or presenting a generated image in a way that misrepresents what is being sold.
